I can’t keep quiet about this any longer. It burns me up to no end watching these piece of shit commercials telling people who are gulliable enough that taking Gardasil will help prevent cervical cancer and some HPV types. It’s total bullshit. People are going to think now hey I got the shot I don’t need to get a pap smear every year because you know there are people out there that will be thinking this. They think this is going to be the cure all just like the flu shot is supposed to prevent you from getting the flu every season. Yes people believe that too. I know of one physician who gets the shot every year, gets sick immediately upon getting the shot and STILL gets sick about 2 more times. The shot doesn’t work people. You are getting pacified by something you want to believe in and that is wrong. You might as well put a placebo out there and say this will cure whatever the hell you have wait for the people to die.

I think what irks me the most about Gardasil is the fact that I heard that the school system is seriously considering requiring that as part of the childhood immunizations for all girls. That is total bullshit. It should be up to the parents to decide this and I know of one nurse who has already said that even if they require it there is no way in hell she is giving it to her daughter.

Yes it is the job of researchers and drug companies to come up with the next big antibiotic or prevention but you cannot tell me that is all just to pad the manufacturers pockets with more money in this case.

I’m sorry I just can’t get past this.

We had a 17 yo (but this apparently applies to anybody 15 and older) who went for an ultrasound and ended up finding out she was pregnant far enough along that it showed up on the ultrasound. Her parents did not know. Whether she knew is beyond me but she claims no. Now according to our hospital laws a 15 year old and older is to be told about this, an STD, etc by themselves without any legal guardians in the room during a visit. Now #1, it is illegal to see a child under the age of 18 without a parent in the room. #2, if we see patients who are pregnant we have to immediately refer them to high risk OB and adult nephrology due to the pregnancy. #3, to get these done, we would have to then give the referrals for said physicians to the PARENTS to make the appointments as the child is under 18 and it is illegal for her to make any appointments. So how do you circumvent the entire thing?

Then my next set of questions were, say you ask the parents to leave the room to tell the child this, and then ask the parents back in the room. They ask you what that was about but you can’t say. They ask the child, the child does not say. What then? I don’t remember what age you are legally able to get an abortion without your parents but I know it is not 15 or 16 and maybe not even 17. Legally the parents are responsible for the childs medical bills, hence they have the right to know what is wrong with their child. This goes against that.

Personally, I think it is a fucked up situation all around. I’ll get to the next fiasco later. Someone claiming to be the grandparent of a child when they have no blood relation what so ever.

Oh yeah you’ll think so after this. In clinic we have 2 RN’s both which are leaving because they are tired of the place being run like a Mickey Mouse show. Then we have an LPN and a PCA who think they run the show and get away with whatever they want. There is another LPN who just works part-time. Then supposedly we have some new rules on how things are run because the last head nurse left and there is a temp in here now. Hopefully this is on her way to getting better help and some semblence of a tightly knit team working there. So essentially each division with have their own nurse and/or PCA now. One section gets to keep their own LPN and is getting a PCA as well. Then when the LPN decides she wants lunch or whatever the hell else, she can grab the RN who hasn’t left yet to “run over there” and cover her which is bull shit because the RN now has to do any sort of teaching to another division while those physicians own nurses won’t be doing it anymore which makes no sense as they are certified in this speciality. So we have an LPN left on our side which will be working solely for 2 divisions while she works part-time and won’t even be there for some of those clinics as she doesn’t work those days they have them. So who gets left in the cold with no PCA, LPN or RN to get vitals on the kids we are seeing? You got it, us. It’s totally fucked up.

Well, lets chat about the BIL, shall we, since this seems to be hitting me now. I stupidly helped him and signed for a boat which he repoed on. Now the bank is after me for the remaining amount after they sold it. So far, this repercusion has made my car insurance go up because I have bad credit which I have a feeling will never leave me now. But that’s not even the big issue, it is the fact that the bank hired a lawyer and is after me. I keep giving him the paperwork but nothing gets done. He probably trashes it. So I’m somewhat stuck as to how to proceed next. Wasn’t my damn boat, I was just helping him out. So far what I’ve been told is that they can’t take anything I own but I’m still wary of this, and I need to get a copy of the insurance card/receipt or something showing that it was in his name so they will stop going after me because after all if he got the insurance without my name, that should prove I didn’t own the damn thing right? How to get this is beyond me without asking him.
